Yes. The challenge is very flexible, and you can address any part of the problem you choose, as long as there is clarity in your approach. Formulate your problem precisely, and develop a clear conceptual model

Yes. There is no limitation to how teams are constructed. Collaboration is encouraged but by no means mandatory.

The challenge is flexible. We also recognize that wildlife can be different in different areas of the planet (this is why the TEA approach aims to consider local, as well as global needs). Simply describe what the protection goals are in your approach.

You should feel free to feature any method or tool that could help fulfill the aim of this Challenge, i.e. replacing (or reducing) animal assays in the evaluation of VineGuard as a grape fungicide. We only ask that you explain what problem you are trying to solve.

Ideally, we would like to see methods that do not rely on animals. However, we recognize that some intermediate steps may have to be taken between the use of current animal assays and non-animal methods. Therefore, methods that lead to a "reduction" of animal use are in scope. Simply justify why animals are needed. You could also propose what steps are needed to reach an entirely non-animal approach.

VineGuard is not a real chemical. We used that hypothetical as a "guide" that would ground the conceptual exercise. Therefore, you can provide an entirely conceptual solution to the problem we proposed, or use a dataset you think might be relevant  (fictitious, or from an existing chemical) that may be available to you.
